Boulder Peak Triathlon, USA - Race Report, 8th August 2004Boulder Peak Triathlon, USA - 8th Aug. 2004 click to view article...Dear Sponsors and Friends Well I made it through the race today and was really happy that I made it as you know I have been as quite sick so it was good to have made the finish line and I was super happy with the way it went for only doing 3 day's of training since getting sick over 2 1/2 weeks ago! The Doc had got it wrong even though I told him I thought I had Gardia and he had me on antibiotics and then worked out it was Gardia so I had like two bouts of it. However I really pleased with the race. I thought I had won the Swim as I didn't see Stephen Hackett go off the front as I was behind Matt Reed cruising along then sprinted up the beach thinking I had the swim prize. Thinking that would be all the money I would make as I hit the bike I knew it was going to be hard as I couldn't get my heart rate up and if I tried I would just stress myself out to much. It was like a hard fast interval session for me. The great thing is I know if I had been in the shape I was last year I could have gone top 3 as Chris Moffat who I beat comfortably last year got 4th. Onwards to the next race. Kind Regards - Bryan Rhodes |
